The Sew & Code Bootcamp is a week-long holiday bootcamp designed for students aged 10 to 12 (P4-6).Presented by IMDA and BERNINA Singapore, this bootcamp will provide participants with hands-on experience in design, coding, sewing, embroidery, and electronics with BERNINA machines.This bootcamp is free and part of IMDA's CODE@SG LEARN programme for Infocomm Media Clubs.There are three runs to choose from:21 – 24 November 2023
28 November – 1 December 2023
5 – 8 December 2023Each run is Tuesday to Friday, 9am to 4pm (including breaks), at BERNINA @ M38 near Marymount MRT.

Learning Objectives
The Sew & Code Bootcamp is an innovative and engaging coding and sewing program designed for students aged 10 to 12 (P4 to 6).The curriculum combines sewing techniques, coding, and e-textiles to provide a unique learning experience that sparks creativity and promotes teamwork.
A curriculum that combines basic sewing machine operations, TurtleStitch coding, e-textile workshops, and interactive design challenges.
Practical experience in designing and creating functional projects, from conception to execution.
Emphasis on teamwork and collaboration, with students working together to bring their visions to life.
Opportunities to develop critical thinking, problem-solving, and technical skills.
Make Beautiful Things
This programme will take the form of a 28-hour training boot camp. By the end of the programme, students should be able to :
Learn the foundations of coding on TurtleStitch
Understand basic coding principles through creating generative artwork and interaction programming on the Microbit
Create complex embroidery with BERNINA iPad app and sewing machines
Conceptualise, design and make a functioning e-textile product; and
Learn design, sewing, coding, electronics fundamentals and philosophy and understand what goes into the creation of a product

Freehand drawings are then converted seamlessly into embroidery designs.
Hands-on experience in design, coding, sewing, embroidery, and electronics with BERNINA machines.

NotesThis bootcamp for students aged 10 to 12 (P4-6) as of 2023.Students are highly encouraged to bring their own laptop to save their progress and continue experimenting outside of class. If you do not own a laptop or Chromebook, please indicate in the registration form.Lunch will not be provided. There is a food court at the building, and we will provide light snacks.
